Custom Built Content Management System
In 2009 I began working on a content management system to compete with Joomla and WordPress.
Some major features of Clickemart include:
- Full e-commerce support, with multiple payment gateways and shipping calculators
- Event and calendar management, integrated with Ticketmaster, Ticketek, and other booking websites
- Support for multiple websites and multiple languages
- Built-in SEO functionality, along with Google Analytics feeds, and other live/historical website statistics
- A robust template system allowing for multiple unique designs within one website
- A caching system that allows content to be stored based on a variety of conditions, and for individual pieces of a page
- A blog system capable of importing posts directly from Tumblr
Since 2008, I’ve taken Carriageworks through 3 major website iterations.
The first was built using a custom built CMS, specifically made for Carriageworks. It featured a Flash slideshow, and a detailed Event catalogue.
The Carriageworks site got a facelift in 2010, and was rebuilt in the Clickemart CMS. The Event system was updated to include an archive of past events, and allow the Carriageworks staff to add extra information to their events.
In 2012, the Carriageworks website was redesigned once more, in collaboration with an external design studio. Along with a new look, the website now has an instant filter in the Events listing, a fully integrated Tumblr blog, and a detailed section all about the various venues at Carriageworks.
